PT&I partners up for Fine Food New Zealand (V5-S1-16)

Fine Foods New Zealand kicks off this Sunday at the ASB Show Grounds in Auckland. It is New Zealand’s premier international trade exhibition for the food service, hospitality, and retail industries.CapturePacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) NZ will be promoting a range of premium products from the Pacific Islands. The promotion will be undertaken in partnership with The Produce Company, a food and beverage distributor in New Zealand with an interest on products from the Pacific Islands. The Produce Company supplies top restaurants, cafés & bars, corporates, caterers and super yachts in New Zealand.

Produce Company Director John Stokes says, “We have a close association with the Pacific Islands having supplied products from New Zealand to the Islands over the last 10 years. Recently we have started to look to importing products back to New Zealand, we are working with a number of Pacific Island businesses to achieve export standards and explore opportunities for export. We are excited to work with Pacific Islands Trade & Invest to achieve this goal.

PT&I Trade Commissioner Micheal Greenslade said, “Over the past year, we have identified and developed supply chain partnerships with New Zealand companies with an existing relationship with the Pacific Islands. We are focused on creating more opportunities for our Pacific exporters. This partnership is a step in the right direction and we are excited to work with The Produce Company.”

Products selected for Fine Foods New Zealand have an excellent opportunity to exhibit to trade only buyers and foodies from throughout country’s food and beverage industry. Fine Foods New Zealand is expected to attract over 6,000 high quality trade visitors over three days. Buyers from a range of industry sector will visit the show to discover new products and services.

The products include premium Arabica coffee from Papua New Guinea; flavoured kava shots, breadfruit flour and coconut water from Fiji; an assortment of chocolates from the Solomon Islands; Nangai nuts, cassava flour, certified organic spices from Vanuatu; and coconut oil and cocoa cubes from Samoa.

The product range shows just how much improved Pacific island branded products have become in terms of quality, range, packaging and marketing.

“The quality and range of these Pacific products will add value to potential customers who are looking for a point of difference in the market. We are encouraging people to look within our region and buy Pacific,” says PT&I’s Trade Development Manager, Joe Fuavao who will be at the trade show.

Fine Food New Zealand runs from 26 – 29 June from 10am – 5pm at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland.

    Hello, I’m emailing from the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, labour and Immigration in Solomon Islands. I’m the Chief Marketing Officer, However, I Just received an forward email from my Permanent Secretary regarding the upcoming event ” Fine Food New Zealand runs from 26 – 29 June from 10am – 5pm at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland”.
    Our Ministry is really interested in knowing more of the details on how Solomon Islands producers can participate in this event.
