ANUGA (Allgemaeine Nahrungs Und Genubmittel Ausstellung) is the world’s top food exhibition for the retail trade, food service and catering markets.

The trade expo offers exhibitors an opportunity to market products directly to more than 155,000 trade professionals from over 198 countries.

The two-yearly exhibition will be held from the 7-11 October 2017 at the Koelnmesse, Messplatz 1, Cologne, Germany.

PT&I Trade Promotion Adviser Europe, Robyn Ekstrom, will lead the Pacific delegation and has booked a stand to accommodate six Pacific Island exporters. The closing date for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Exhibition Participation is Friday 10 March 2017.  EOIs can be emailed to Ms Ekstrom at robyn.ekstrom@pifs-geneva.ch or post a printed application form available from PT&I Geneva to 1 Rue du Pre-de-la-Bichette, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland.

PT&I will meet all trade show exhibition stand costs but successful applicants will be required to meet their return airfares, visa, accommodation, meals and incidentals while in Cologne for ANUGA 2017. Further terms and conditions and information will be available on the application form.

PT&I Geneva has successfully attended ANUGA 2015 with companies from the Pacific Islands. Each of the delegations have been able to build on commercial linkages made from contacts and linkages established at the previous SIAL and ANUGA food expos. A European distributor, Kristoffer Drachmann in a previous report acknowledged the value of maintaining a Pacific presence at Europe’s premium food trade exhibitions where exhibitors get the attention of buyers and potential clients. Commenting on the PT&I attendance at ANUGA 2015, Ms Ekstrom said ANUGA 2015 was nothing like any of them that they had experienced before. “The food fair was spread over a large area with ten separate trade fairs on the one site. There was a stream of high quality trade visitors to the show over the five-day expo. The opportunity to capture buyer, distributor and retailer interest was unparalleled,” Ms Ekstrom said.
