If you participated in the Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) NZ surveys recently for which our thanks are due, you’re also probably wondering who might have been the lucky winner of the cool prize.
An iPad Mini was up for grabs for everyone who answered the survey questionnaire. After the survey closed, the lucky winner was drawn from all the respondents that had completed the survey.
And the prize has gone to Etu Tusitala of Elife Company, Samoa.
Mr Tusitala was surprised and delighted when he got the call from the PTI Auckland office.
‘Winning the prize is both a surprise and a great blessing,” he told Pacific Periscope from Apia, Samoa. “It is good on PTI to have given us an opportunity to give our feedback on its services and on Pacific Periscope. It is good to know that they listen.”
Elife Company is a small family owned business that Mr Tusitala runs with his wife Elena in Apia. The company primarily makes and markets ‘Samoa Wild Turmeric Drink’, which it created in response to the growing popularity of turmeric as a natural health and wellness drink. Made from locally grown turmeric, ‘Samoa Wild Turmeric Drink’ is BioGro Certified Organic.
ELife Company has seen an increasing demand and interest for the ‘Samoa Wild Turmeric Drink’ both locally and internationally. The company currently exports to New Zealand and American Samoa with plans to export to Australia in the near future.
Mr Tusitala and wife Elena recently participated in the PTI Pacific Path to Market programme and exhibited their products to a great reception from Aucklanders at Pasifika earlier this year.
Though Elife Company does not yet have a website, the company is active on social media and Mr Tusitala says a growing number of enquiries and orders come through their social media channels.
“We have also been promoting Elife heavily on social media and even selling. This device will now prove a handy tool in boosting our efforts. Thank you, PTI,” Mr Tusitala said. “We will use the iPad Mini for everything.”
Speaking of their experience participating in the PTI Pacific Path to Market programme at Pasifika, he said, “The programme at Pasifika was awesome. We were able to expand our networks thanks to PTI’s initiative. It was well hosted. We are greatly looking forward to boosting our online presence for which, too, this device will be a great tool.”
