Finding affordable solutions to freight and logistics issues are EIF International’s speciality.

Speaking to 18 participants at the Digital Path to Market Workshop for Papua New Guinea in July, Business Development and Relationship Manager at EIF Gautam Kishor says the New Zealand owned business is active in the Pacific region.

“We are trying to make a difference there by offering reliable and affordable freight and logistics solutions,” Gautam says.

“Working in the Pacific region has given us the opportunity to meet different Pacific people and businesses.

“It helps us understands their business models and what help they need so we can offer freight needs as per their requirements, and we also educate and assist Pacific businesses to understand importation and exportation processes, documentation, customs and Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) requirements.”

Pacific countries are very much dependent on imports, and EIF can assist businesses with importation and other services, he continues.

Those services include door to door air freight and sea freight from all over the world; container unpacking, warehouse storage, pick and pack orders, national distribution and order tracking; the shipping of project cargo, arranging customs clearance and delivery to site; and assisting Pacific importers and exporters.

It works alongside Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand to assist Pacific businesses import their goods into New Zealand.

“We provide education around how to get products across the New Zealand border, while PTI works to advance Pacific businesses in trade facilitation and business investment development.

“This enables us to deal directly with potential new clients and be able to assist them with all their international freight, customs clearance and MPI requirements.”

Both PTI and EIF work towards the same goal of assisting businesses from the Pacific to bring their products to the New Zealand market, Gautam adds.

He says being a part of the Path to Market Workshop has been a great opportunity to share what EIF does and how it can benefit Pacific businesses.

“For any business it is important to have access to correct information and I believe, this workshop provides opportunities to Pacific businesses and youths to think outside the box.

“They are beginning to understand the right process of importing and exporting so that can support their business.”

An online Path to Market Workshop for the Solomon Islands will be staged on August 14.
