Wedding rings and a box full of Samoan treasures

Treasure Box, established in 1991, is the first jewellery manufacturer of Samoan and Polynesian designs in Samoa, according to the company’s Manager Stefan Szegedi. Since first opening its doors to customers over 25 years ago, Treasure Box has been providing a range of watches and jewellery products like rings, chains, pendants, earrings, bracelets and black pearl jewellery.

“We have developed a strong customer base over the years that continually purchase our products and services. Most of Treasure Box jewellery products are locally handcrafted by our jewellers. This ensures that each product has its own unique and distinct features. We also produce products based on the requirements and needs of customers,” Mr Szegedi told Pacific Periscope from Apia.

Commenting on the company’s participation at the Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand Path to the Pacific Trade Show in Auckland on 6 April, Mr Szegedi said, “Treasure Box is very excited to be coming over. We believe the New Zealand market offers great opportunities for us to export our unique products. At the same time, we are looking to find potential suppliers who can supply jewellery products to us in Samoa.”

The company will be showcasing a selection of its own unique handmade jewellery including black pearl jewellery, pendants, earrings as well as engagement and wedding rings.

“Our Rings have been designed and created using themes from the Pacific and Samoa, like the Tattoo, Fine Mat and Maile design. Our black pearl jewellery uses pearls from Tahiti and the Cook Islands. These, we believe, could be well liked by the New Zealand market,” he said.

Treasure Box hopes to make sales and to find potential distributors in New Zealand. “We’d also love for Treasure Box to be able to get some publicity and awareness in New Zealand,” Mr Szegedi said. He will be representing Treasure Box at the Auckland event on April 6 said.
